Florida Pool Fences provides its customers with answer to questions that they may have. If you don’t see the answer to a question below, please feel free to contact us and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
Fence Poles
Pool Guard poles are made out of 6063 marine grade aluminum. The aluminum is combined with zinc and magnesium at manufacturing. Under a microscope aluminum is normally porous, by adding zinc and magnesium to the process the aluminum becomes solid.
Yes they are reinforced, quad core all the way through the pole, top to bottom, and state engineer certified.
No Pool Guard poles are made with 6063 marine grade aluminum which are highly resistant to rust.
The aluminum that makes up the poles is 6063 marine grade aluminum. 6063 marine grade aluminum has zinc and magnesium added to it which makes it non-porous. The combination of that and our powerful powder coat paint means you will never see it chip.
No, Pool Guard poles are state engineered and certified to withstand 58 lb of pressure. At that point they will snap at deck level.
Fence Mesh
No, Pool Guard fence is manufactured here in Florida with UV stabilizers and protectants to withstand all of the harsh South Florida elements.
Yes the fence is easily repaired.
Depending on the color, you might never even notice it. However if you need to clean the fence we suggest hosing it down with water and whisking it with a soft bristled broom if needed.
If this happens you need to hose down the area of the fence where the chemicals were splashed right away. Both the inside and the outside of the fence should be hosed.
Do not hang the towels on the fence. The trim is not made to hold weight in a vertical position so it could cause the pool trim to lean to one side. Also, if the towel has been used it’s possible there is chlorine on the towel which can transfer to the fence and possibly damage it.
Premium fence has a stronger mesh and is more transparent. More specifically, the premium fence mesh is nylon based dipped in a UV coat. The border stitching is enhanced with a lock stitch. The standard fence is made with marine grade vinyl.
Pool Deck & Holes
The holes are drilled out with a 1 1/8 in core drill bit.
Plastic sleeves are what we insert into the deck, every 36 in, for the fence poles to fit into.
Yes, every installation comes with deck caps.
Deck caps are plastic covers that perfectly fit into the sleeves that are installed into the deck. If the fence is removed from the deck, you can put the deck caps into the sleeves.
Fence Routes
Yes the fence can connect to one of the vertical posts on a screen enclosure. Usually run in an L shape or U shape.
Yes it can, and we often do.
Some people find it helpful to mark the bottom of the first pole of each fence section with a consecutive number or letter so when the fence is put back it can be put back in order.
Yes it is possible and we do it often. There is an upcharge for a ground install because it is much more labor-intensive.
We will install up to 3 manual openings on your pool deck free of charge.
Storage & Storms
The fence should definitely be taken down if strong winds are in the forecast. The fence is easy to remove, can be rolled up, and stored promptly.
Preferably in the garage or out of the elements.
Strength & Deterrent
Absolutely not.
Your children will not be able to climb over the fence. There are no vertical bars for your children to get a foothold. Remember the fence is a deterrent. Children should always be supervised.
Time
Generally it takes 5 to 10 minutes.
This depends on the size of your pool, however in most cases it should take no longer than 10 minutes to remove the fence and maybe a few more minutes to put the fence back in. The fencing comes in 15 foot sections which can be rolled up into a small tube that can be easily carried in one arm.
On average two to four hours.
We guarantee an installation within one week.
Permits
For new construction a permit is needed, which usually falls under the master builder permit. In most cases for an existing pool, no permit is required.
Yes for a fee we can.
Every city is different and you should always check with your building and zoning department.
Warranty & Insurance
Yes, there is a warranty for both the standard fence and the premium fence. The standard fence has a 5 year warranty and the premium fence has a limited lifetime warranty. The warranty covers any manufacturer defects.
We are fully licensed and insured.
