Pool Safety Covers
If you’re looking for an absolute lockdown of your pool, the pool safety cover is the way to go. Whether you want to shut it down for a period of time, or use your pool periodically, the safety pool cover will do the job and more. It’s like putting armor over your pool, it’s nearly impossible to get in. Made from either industrial polyester or a propylene mesh, Florida pool fence’s pool safety covers not only keep children out, but also keep animals, leaves, debris and algae making sunlight from reaching the pool surface and have even kept out runaway cars. Florida Pool Fence’s pool safety covers work as your all-season lifeguard. Our covers are usually 50% lighter than our competitors and often have 70% more tensile strength. The choice is yours, either a cover that lets water flow through, or a cover that repels water. Either way, when a pool lockdown is required there is no better choice than a pool safety cover.
The pool safety cover not only protects, it also SAVES! In fact the United States Department of Energy says that you will recover the cost of your pool safety cover within just 3 years. One of the biggest expenses for pool owners in the Southern Florida area is evaporation. With the cover over your pool, evaporation is cut down to almost zero. Another big expense is the use of chemicals to keep your water pristine. With the Florida Pool Fences’s pool safety cover blocking the sunlight, halting evaporation, and retarding the algae growth, the use of chemicals can be reduced by as much as 60%.
Pool Guard is able to manufacture these amazing covers because it combines over 20 years of manufacturing experience with computer aided state of the art programs. These stress loads and stress points in the material are identified and thus allowing Pool Guard to compensate for it during the manufacturing process. State of the art design, stitching and materials all help make our covers the industries best. Each pool safety cover has been independently tested to meet and exceed Florida pool barrier codes and has been certified by the American Society for Testing and Materials Standards (ASTM).
It all starts with a simple phone call. Florida Pool Fences will come out to measure your pool, design, quote all for free and later install safety covers as far as Palm Beach County including the northernmost cities of Jupiter, Juno Beach and Tequesta all the way through Fort Lauderdale and Broward County, Coral Gables and Miami-Dade County down through Monroe County including: Key Largo, Islamorada and Key West. Pool safety covers look similar to a trampoline that covers the entirety of your pool. The covers block the sun which and stops water from evaporating in your pool. They cut down on algae growth and cuts down on the amount of chemicals needed. In fact the US Department of Energy states that pool safety cover customers will recoup their investment within 3 years.  All of which saves you money. Pool Guard safety covers exceed Florida builder codes and are ASTM certified. Pool Guard safety covers have spring loaded straps that connect and anchor the cover to your pool deck through a series of brass pegs that are installed every three feet near the edge of your pool. There are two types of covers:
- Mesh (allows rain water to pass through).
- Solid (repels all water).

Florida Pool Fences provides its customers with answer to questions that they may have. If you don’t see the answer to a question below, please feel free to contact us and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
Mesh covers are able to sift out the leaves and debris, yet allow water to pass through the cover. There is no need to place a pump on top of the cover to remove water. The cover can hold a large amount of weight and is nearly impossible for a small toddler to remove the cover. When the cover is on, nobody is getting into the pool.
Solid covers work just like the mesh cover except that the cover is solid and does not allow the water to go through the cover. If you are trying to keep any water from getting into the pool then the solid cover is a great choice.Â
Covers are great for those that don’t use their pool that often and those that want to shut their pool down. The cover is also good for those that have a lot of trees over the pool. The cover will keep all of the leaves out of the water as the leaves fall. Anyone that has raccoon and iguana problems will be happy to know that the safety cover will keep the pool safe from being spoiled.
Covers are not good for anyone that wants to swim in their pool every day. The cover, which is very secure, does take some time and a small amount of muscle to undo and reinstall.
Holes are drilled in the deck every three feet so small brass anchors can be installed. The anchors are installed so they are nearly flush with the deck when not being used.
The springs offload the pressure on the straps so they do not tear.
Yes the safety covers come in four colors:
- Blue
